Residents in portions of rural Pennsylvania share their roadways with horse-drawn buggies and their Amish owners. Since the 1800s, these rigs have been as much a part of Amish Country as its rolling hills, farms and forests. Extending from historic Philadelphia in the east to hard-working Pittsburgh in the west, the state also is crisscrossed by the Appalachian Mountains.
