Grey Mineral Salt

Grey Mineral Salt, also known as Sel Gris/Celtic Salt/Grey Sea Salt, is a premium culinary salt known for its distinctive color, complex flavor profile, and unique texture. Harvested from tidal ponds along the coasts of France, Grey Mineral Salt gains its characteristic grey hue from the rich minerals and clay deposits present in the seawater.

The harvesting process involves allowing seawater to flow into large basins, where it is left to evaporate under the sun. As the water recedes, it leaves behind crystals of salt mingled with mineral-rich sediment. This natural and artisanal method gives Grey Mineral Salt a slightly damp and crunchy texture, setting it apart from more refined salts.

The flavor of Grey Mineral Salt is nuanced and robust, with a briny-ness that reflects its harvesting methods. The saltiness is well-balanced by subtle earthy and mineral notes, making it a versatile and sought-after ingredient in gourmet cooking. Chefs appreciate Grey Mineral Salt for its ability to enhance the natural flavors of a wide range of dishes, from vegetables and meats to desserts.

Whether used as a finishing salt to add a delightful crunch to a dish or incorporated into cooking and baking, Grey Mineral Salt stands as a testament to the artisanal craftsmanship and uniqueness of the regions where it is harvested. Its distinct characteristics make it a favorite among everyday cooks, bakers, and chefs worldwide, elevating your favorite meals with a touch of French elegance and flavor complexity!

Uses: As a finishing salt on breads, cookies, brownies, caramels, pasta, roasted veggies, salads, grilled fish, roasted chicken, & seared steaks!
